Uterine Cancer

This is a hysterectomy specimen which has already been opened to reveal an early endometrial adenocarcinoma. The only visible evidence of the malignancy is the polypoid appearance of the endometrial lining in the center of the uterus. If there is no evidence of extra-uterine metastases or other high-risk features then this patient will require no post-operative radiation treatments. Her likelihood of cure with surgery alone is excellent.
