Lisa N. Abaid, MD, FACOG, MPH completed her undergraduate study at Auburn University. She attended Medical School at the University of Miami. Dr Abaid performed her Residency in Gynecology and Obstetrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her Fellowship subspecialization in Gynecologic Oncology was also completed at the University of North Carolina.

Correlation between amount of smoking and severity of cervical dysplasia 07/04 – 07/05 ACOG/Cytyc Research Award for Cervical Cancer Screening ($15,000)
Principal Investigator A cross-sectional study to determine the association between smoking frequency and intensity with cotinine and nicotine levels in the urine and cervical mucus, and to correlate these levels with dysplasia severity
at time of presentation.

Division of Gynecologic Oncology, Chapel Hill, NC Principal Investigator A review of all patients with uterine sarcoma treated at UNC Chapel Hill during the years 1980-2005. Specific research aims include to describe patterns of recurrence and to determine the impact of adjuvant radiation on disease-free and overall survival.
